Athens Youth Football, Inc (AYF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, focused on youth football and cheerleading in the Athens Community. We are governed by a 5 member board of directors that are appointed by Athens High School Athletics Department and Athens High School Head football coach. Our intentions are to focus on young athletes as they prepare to learn the fundamentals that will help them later in their athletic ventures.
We are a member of the North Alabama Youth Football (NAYF) which is a member of USA Football and Heads Up. We follow the NAYF rule book that incorporates time-tested rules and regulations, has strict equipment requirements, mandates volunteer screening and training certifications, and provides necessary resources.
Our mission is to prepare our Athens youth for their middle school through high school playing/cheering years by teaching the fundamentals of football and cheer while also providing funding for equipment and youth sports in our community.
Youth tackle football is a full-field youth football game designed to be the final step in a league's youth football pathway before athletes enter high school sports. Within this development stage, athletes participate in full-field 11-on-11 tackle football.
Youth cheer is a discipline of cheer that involves athletes who cheer in support of other youth sports, most often football.
